Have you had a moment where you posted your product or service social media and the response you get is minimal? The moment we post facial pictures however, the response suddenly spikes?
I have been there and in that moment, I feel like, it is only our face that should be supported and not what we are working hard at or the things we are productive in.
Someone once complained and asked a rhetoric question “Is it because I am not dancing naked?”
I wonder what the males will ask.
Now, I believe everyone should have a choice to buy services and goods they are interested in but why the differing responses to different shared aspect of a person’s life?
Why the spiked interest when a woman promotes her goods indecently rather than when she works hard at sharing it appropriately?
Why wait until there is a scandal before there is an interest in a person’s goods?
Where do all the followers disappear to when you share something meaningful and life changing?
How comes they reappear when you share something less relevant?
These differences in response has caused people to display their goods and services in a particular way so as to keep a consistent response because if they don’t, the response may not come as they desire.
It is important to note that a simple like, share and interaction with a person’s business or platform can go a long way. You may not be able to patronize their business financially but your interaction and referral may bring interested buyers, especially when they are people you are following on social media or even your friends.
Many African youths are working so hard and with the presence of social media, they are trying to present their goods as much as possible. If you can support their facial pictures then please support their business as it would go a long way both for their businesses and our Economy.
You do not need to wait until you are begged before you show your support, remember, the little things count.
For those with small businesses, how have you managed to cope with these challenges on social media? Share with us in the comment section.
