If you are a young person like me who is interested in trying life out, you will agree that many times, discouragements happen while trying and it just makes you want to give up!
You get?
Recently, I reached out to a person I discovered on Instagram to help me sell some of my items. The platform of this business I had reached out to looked very beautiful and I believed it would help portray my art works properly.
Guess what?
The person agreed.
It may not be a big deal for many people but it is for me. This is because it was my first time doing such and I was not expecting this person to respond positively.
What I was trying to sell were some of the artworks I had created months ago but had failed to sell them myself. Bad marketer?
We had an agreement and I organized myself to meet the vendor at the location of the business was close to my residence.
Guess what again?
The meeting the person dragged. This again was not expected.
I was disappointed. My hopes had been inflated only to be quickly deflated.
After days of waiting for a response from the person, I finally reached out and in polite sentences expressed my disappointment and asked the person to tell me honestly if my artwork was still viable to be sold.
The response was quick and apologetic with the statement that the business was a new one and organizing the platform was still underway.
We are yet to meet but I hope it works, it would be a great booster for me.
From this short experience, I would like to share that sometimes it may be hard for some of us to get the platform that we desire. Sometimes, we may have to work extra hard compared to others, however, we should not be deterred by disappointments.
Keep reaching out, keep moving on.
It may be hard, but it is possible.
I believe that
Sometimes, few people may support you but do not let it deter you. Always understand why you started and keep moving on, someone would be grateful you did.
There is a time for everything and as a youth, I know my time is for a purpose. It is up to me to make good use of it before it fades.
To every young person working honestly hard, I pray your efforts are fruitful.
Hopefully, I should sell those artworks soon..
