The parallel one
My journey to the world of being creative with words on paper started from when I barely understood the power the words I penned down carried. As a middle child born into a family of five with two siblings, there usually was an invisible line of preference with dad dotting on the first, and mom subconsciously doing the same with the last, I felt like the 5th wheel of an already complete car part, considering myself the spare tyre. Although they often say I thought wrong but the feelings never left, in fact they paved the way for my interest in writing, which I saw as my own little world, and a place where I can do anything to life with my imagination.
It will be fair of me to admit to being the weird one. Lol….. Often misunderstood cos of my double personality that never seem to meet each other. Before you start analysing too far, no I’m not bipolar, I’m just like every other human with different sides to them. Mine just seem a bit misconstrued , people find it difficult to relate to the coordinated, swift problem solver and realist, who constantly seek for knowledge and new things to learn from the worrying sanguine who always thinks of the worst of situations yet to come. These opposite personalities are why I refer to myself as parallel, which makes people talk about me like I’m two different persons cos these two personas only come together either on pen and paper or my electronic notepad. It’s a blessing to have them both as they create the words and emotions behind every article I write, they make me objective and sentimental at the same time which explains why for each piece I write, I picture myself as both the problem and the solution.
Writing for me is the best way to keep a sane mind in our present world of constant uncertainty. Loneliness may have led me into its embrace but the power it possessed alongside its ability to bring about change had left me clinging more to its bosom. Write ups are like tongues on paper, which have made and Marr nations. From the writings of constitutions that govern, to the treaties that bring about peace while not leaving out the notes of warnings that bring about war and chaos. Writing is indeed more powerful than one could ever imagine which is the reason for me considering myself fortunate to be among the few that possesses its strength.
