I’m Ashley Justine jantjies, a city girl from Southern Africa. I grew up on a community where the children didn’t have role models or aspirations, I was fortunate enough to make it out. That’s why I want to reach out to people out there, so they know that their dreams are valid and keep on until they have achieved their dreams. However, before I can do that here’s what you need to know about ya girl.
I was born on 6 April, which makes me an Arian. If you are into zodiacs I am nothing like my star sign. You know, aggressive, dominant, mean…that’s not me.
I am a lover of things. Places, people, fashion, languages, art, as well as writing. I’ve always liked the finer things in life, I’ve been called “boujee” for that, which I’m fine with because there’s nothing wrong with feeling you deserve better.
I live in my head most of the time ( I get terrible headaches for it) creating crazy ideas and weird scenarios.
Growing up I didn’t know what I wanted to be after school but one thing I knew for sure was I will travel the world ( still working on it). I am big on family, that’s where I found my best friends, role models and my biggest supporters. I appreciate them and would do anything for them. With strangers I give off this sweet timid perception but when I’m with my family or any member of my family that girl doesn’t exist. People close to us always you can tell she’s a jantjies- because we are loud, talkative, we love to laugh and joke around. We have our fights, we just love harder. I thank God for bringing me into mine.
Music is everything. I’m actually surprised I can’t sing because I love music. All genres, some more than others. I turn to music when I’m sad, happy, excited, depressed, whatever the mood. It’s just so therapeutic. My favorite color is blue because of the ocean and the sky. That’s it.
When I’m not binging on k-dramas on Netflix, I’m either writing or sewing on my mother’s machine.
Also if I’m not married by 35, I’ll be living with my cat, two dogs and a parrot in the woods.
