The year 2017 for me was a defining one. I realized that truly the best years of my life are now and should be geared towards pursuing my interests. I made a decision to build & develop my skills and a friend tagged me on a post on Developing Afrika's page. It was an opportunity to be mentored with Busybeeeventsng. I took the opportunity and the experience helped me develop new skills, made me more accountable and I can say my business is the better for it.
Not so long after training, I was paired to be mentored by @wpconsults which definitely was an eye-opener on getting clients to use my service.
The good part is also the way Oluwaseyitan of Developing Afrika would stay on your neck ensuring you set SMART goals and are constantly working to achieve them. 2017 would be incomplete without me celebrating @developing.africa.
Today, three years down the line, I am not only still a member of that thriving community of entrepreneurs who are constantly thriving to be better and committed to making sustainable and measurable impact in the society, I got employed in Oct 2018 as a project manager for The Event Xperience Africa Conference ( a platform for African Event Professionals to learn, share, connect and network), my role here involves a lot of strategic thinking and implementation, content creation, branding, team management and the other perks that come with the role.
The mentor (@busybeeevents) I got assigned to back then in 2017 attended the conference for all of the editions we have had and she was sure glad to see how I have evolved.
I am thankful for a community like DA that pushes you to be better, provides you with the right resources, a little here, and a little there ensuring we all get closer to achieving our goals.

Being a member of the DA community has been one of the best decisions I made in my career path.
I had a plan to build a good career in the fashion Industry; hence I thought it will be best to go to a standard fashion school. Financing the training almost seemed impossible until I saw a discounted training ad on the DA platform for a fashion course at OSC college of fashion, Ikeja. I applied and was awarded the scholarship.
Ms. Seyitan who is the founder of the community took every step with me to ensure that I was getting the best and enjoying the training. After the training I went through key business management trainings and mentorship that were organized by the developing Africa community.
Today I am proudly building a fashion brand of a team of 4, two full time staff, a contract staff and an intern. I have also been able to train two people who in the nearest future will start their own fashion brands, all thanks to the Developing Afrika for empowering me and so many others. They have been a part of this journey with me and so many others, always making sure that we are on the right track and building our brands the right way
